Wayne Bradbury Photography

I was born in 1966 in rural Australia and I grew up on farms and in country towns in Australia’s south east. I now live, along with my wife and two young daughters, near the town of Swan Hill, on the Victoria/ New South Wales state border.

I have always had an eye for the beauty of nature, long before I took up photography. I can remember often seeing wonderful outdoor scenes which would trigger a strong response in me, making me wish that I could capture these moments forever. It wasn’t until just after the birth of my first daughter around ten years ago that I suddenly decided I would take up photography. I started playing with a 35mm film SLR that we had, and by experimenting with that and a digital camera which I purchased, I began teaching myself the technical side of photography.

I think that I have always had a natural eye for composition and light, the two most important ingredients of landscape photography, but still continue to develop these skills and search for my own photographic style. I have adopted the panoramic format as my favoured way of capturing my vision. I use the 6 x 17 centimetre film format and Fuji Velvia slide film to satisfy my love for the golden hour colours, and my desire to make very large prints. I also shoot panoramas digitally, using a high quality SLR camera and lenses. I will take seven shots while rotating the camera through the scene, and then stitch them together on the computer, creating one very high quality image.

I currently operate my own picture framing studio and gallery in Swan Hill, where I will frame anything people care to have framed, and also offer for sale my own framed prints.
My photos have also been published in magazines and calendars throughout Australia.
