Vanda Daminato
Vanda Daminato was born in Mezzolombardo (Trento, Italy) and now she works and lives in Milan. After obtaining her diploma and taking up law at the University of Ferrara, Daminato began painting under the careful and loving guidance of her mother. Vanda loves nature and animals and has a particular fascination with horses and equestrian competitions and this is expressed in her paintings, which are often about these intelligent and noble animals in a natural environment. She has been working as a professional artist since 1970 creating pieces of great relevance, quality and originality. In 1987 she graduated from ‘Magistero of the Foerderburg von Kunst und Kultur’ (Vaduz) and she is a member of the Pisa Association of Engravers, as well as the Association of Engravers in Italy. From 1979 to 1982 Daminato lived in Bonn where she worked for the Editor Marktpreisverlag and illustrated books for several collectors, and, together with the fashion designer Trussardi, she was part of the team who designed and chose the colours for the varnishing of Augusta 109A, a helicopter for the USA market. As a designer, she has also created the poster of ‘The Car and the Mind’ for the Committee on Human Values, the president of which is Antonio Craxi, and the poster for the 29th Bancarella Sport Prize at Pontremoli. In 1991 Daminato designed the image of the Meristel-Sirti-Pirelli Group for Telecom ’91 and was very successful at the ‘6e Exposition mondiales des telecomunications’ (Geneve).
