Trevor Mitchell
After attending Bradford Art College, Trevor Mitchell began his career as an art director at a London advertising agency in 1979. After a few years he returned to his native West Yorkshire and went freelance in 1986. Illustrating for greeting card publishers rekindled his childhood love of painting and he soon tired of advertising work when he realized his hobby could become his living. Today, Trevor’s illustrations can be found on prints, cards, jigsaw puzzles, metal signs and collector plates all over the world. His painting reflects his enthusiasm for steam and vintage vehicles and his love of the countryside. He delights in recreating the past on canvas through careful research and is well known for his nostalgic, authentic scenes depicting British farming and rural life.
