Susan Henke Fine Art
“I have been making art since I was old enough to hold a pencil. I always knew I would be an artist. When I was 14 we lived in Hawaii for a year and I attended 8th grade there. My art teacher told me that when it came time for College I should apply to attend The Cooper Union in New York City . I never forgot that advice and when the time came I did indeed apply and was accepted there.
I became interested in Folk Art while spending time in Vermont. I painted a few pieces and was thrilled when they were included in an issue of Country Living magazine. I love painting scenes that harken back to the more rural lifestyle Americans once led.”
Susan lives in the small Hamlet of Shrub Oak with her husband Robert and Border Collies Ava and Negan.
