Rusty Frentner
Born in 1958 and moved to the country when I was about 3 years old. I grew up surrounded by wilderness, old farm lands and an apple orchard. We had horses and ducks to keep our family entertained. I started drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil. I wanted to be a cowboy when I grew up and my earliest drawings were of horses. I got a lot of art supplies for Christmas and birthdays that kept me working on improving my drawing skills. Then when I got into high school I started drawing all the pretty girls!
The out-of-doors sparked a keen interest in wildlife in my early years. To this day I love nothing more then being in the wild looking for and tracking wildlife.
I work mainly in acrylics. I like to try all media, so I have used graphite pencil, watercolors, color pencil, oils, casein, charcoal to name a few. Lately I have joined a Plein Air painting grow and am having fun painting out doors! I am learning new ways to work with color to make my work more exciting. I am still doing my detail work back in the studio as well.
Nature is my greatest inspiration and I commit to “keeping it Wild!!!!”
