Pedro Gavidia

Born on August 31, 1961 in Mexico City, Pedro Gavidia Tovar was always interested in the arts plastics and in the application of the principles of symmetry in his compositions. The son of a teacher and a bibliophile, and growing up in the cultural core of the Santa María la Ribera neighborhood of the capital, from the earliest stages of its formation he was curious about shapes, colors and stories that he patiently developed.
This concern was complemented by visits to exhibitions of Dalí, the Giacometti brothers, Remedios Varo, Leonora Carrington, Manuel Felguérez, Juan O’Gorman and Félix Parra, among many others, and visits to the museums of the Hermitage, Louvre, Vatican, of the Academy in Florence, etc.
He has a bachelor’s degree in communication design.graphics at the Metropolitan Autonomous University and has illustrated books, magazines and all kinds of covers. As of 2011, he begins to practice in digital art, dabbling in landscapes, portraits and abstract art or non-figurative, and develops his concept of “art for imagine”, achieving suggestive images that allow to the imagination of those who observe them, give them a meaning personal and subjective to the interpretation of the work.
