Margaret King
Most of my career is in graphic design. Twice I worked for kid’s pubs: a Sunday insert, and then a kid’s nature magazine. At the kid’s magazine, I wrote, illustrated, and designed for ages 7 to 12. I also helped illustrate a city park’s nature center exhibit—with some small diagrams, plus a painting they enlarged to small mural-sized. I won an international logo design award from Graphis Magazine in 2007.
Currently, I design ads for newspapers, for a coupon book, and for tourist pubs. I create some of the corresponding motion graphics. I design and sell garden-themed note cards, paintings, and sculptures at both a gallery and a history center.
Sculptures the gallery sold for me caught the eye of a college executive, and I was assigned to sculpt the school’s 2022 community leadership awards. Maybe another “brag” is that 2 well-known fine artists have bought my work.
The art I license here—and also my sculptures—are inspired by whimsical folk art, wildlife, rural areas, and great gardening.
