Lorraine Platt
Lorraine Platt was born in Cheshire in 1962. After graduating with a BA Honors Degree in Fine Art Painting, from the University of London, Lorraine absorbed herself in a full-time career painting vibrant and exciting still-life compositions. Her paintings feature tables of abundant flowers, ripe fruits and elaborate Chinese pots and jugs in singing colors.
The subject matter nearly always includes flowers in their hugely varied forms, sizes, and bright colors. With characteristic delight and understanding, the artist succeeds in capturing the loveliness of a jug of summer roses or the exotic sensuality of a tiger lily. This zest and love of flowers is a constant source of inspiration and challenge, which is reflected in the spontaneous handling of the paint. Lorraine demonstrates great vigor and confidence in her painting.
Lorraine’s work has been highly successful and exhibited throughout the country.
