Jerry Cable

Born in northeastern Ohio, Jerry Cable, at an early age, discovered his passion for art. Under the tutelage of a private instructor, Jerry set out to define himself as an artist. Today his creative spirit thrives in a historic stone house that is his studio, in Stockton, New Jersey. Nestled along the banks of the Delaware River, the artist and his studio, are part of an artistic legacy that has enriched the Delaware Valley countryside for decades. In the tradition of artists such as Edward Willis Redfield (1869-1965) & Robert Henri (1865-1929), Jerry continues to capture a spirit of the American landscape reflected in its architectural legacy in rural America along with its seafaring history along the coast of Maine. His vision of the American landscape transcends the scene and presents
the viewer a unique perspective where farms, barns, lobster boats & dories stand like monuments of architectural folk art. This vision comes from a life lived on the farm and a deep respect of his surroundings coming from that authentic experience. landscapes provide a serene meditative respite that invites the viewer to step inside. He has won numerous awards and has exhibited in more than fifty juried exhibitions including The Philadelphia Sketch Club and The National Art Club of New York City along with more than thirty five solo exhibitions in Philadelphia, New Jersey, Maine, Connecticut and Ohio. He is represented by galleries in Maine and throughout the mid-Atlantic region and he is emerging as one of this regions important contemporary realist painters.
