By adding a twist and abstraction to the still life, I feel I bring the viewer closer to an appreciation of everyday objects. I enjoy exploring the “staged” quality of genre depictions. By over dramatizing color, shape, and composition, my hope is that the viewer will take my work as a visual cue to more closely analyze and appreciate the mundane.
