Don Engler
Don Engler is an illustrator/artist. He was born in Louisville, KY, but much of his childhood was spent on his grandparents’ farm in a small town in western Kentucky. Don has been drawing and painting as long as he can remember. His artwork has been commissioned by companies all around the US. He most recently was featured on the Emmy-award winning show, “Bluegrass and Backroads.”
Don started his career as a sign painter for a company in Louisville, KY. He was then drafted in the Army and served a tour in Vietnam. After returning to civilian life, he worked for several companies doing fashion art and home furnishing art. In the early 70’s, Don was hired as an illustrator/visual information specialist at Fort Knox, KY. He designed training aids and field manuals for soldiers as well as visual presentations. During this time, Don also kept busy with commission work from companies like Ranger Boats, Farm Credit Services, The International Rodeo Association and Brock-Calvar Advertising.
Since retiring from his civil service position, Don enjoys fishing, hunting and painting. He has won many international art contests with his original paintings. Don continues to use his creative skills in his art.
