2015 Atlanta Gift Show

Jan 15, 2015

During a “quick trip” to Atlanta, some of our Sales team managed to get in 28,600 steps (approximately 12 miles) in just 2.5 days!  With more than seven million square feet of enclosed space, the Atlanta Gift show ranks first as the world’s largest trade mart/trade show facility. It is the nation’s leading gift, home furnishings, apparel, and area rug marketplace. At the Atlanta Gift Show, you will find more product than anywhere else! With the latest designs on every floor of every building, it helped us to learn what kind of art manufacturers & retailers are looking for.

We (Courtney and Syrena) did not waste any time and tried to fit in as much of the show as possible! We had back-to-back (to back) appointments with many eager customers. With over 400 artists to present, we could meet for hours!  Courtney and I made sure to set aside some time to “walk the show.” Walking the show can be draining and it is incredibly easy to get distracted (and overwhelmed) because there are floor to ceiling glass windows of the showrooms, which allows you to see a remarkable amount of products as you walk down hallway after hallway. Plus, you never know who you will see (or run into) at the show. This year we got to meet Paula Deen! It was a lot of fun and she was incredibly kind.

One of our favorite parts about our meetings/walking the show is seeing our images on finished products.  Here are some pictures of the products we saw at the show.

(Coasters by Color Bakery)

(Anderson Design Group Pillows)

(Art Licensing Studio Tabletop)

(Celebrate Life Gallery Wooden Wall Decor)

To see the entire album, take a look at our Atlanta Gift Show 2015 album on Facebook.

Our meetings went really great and as a result we have been busy little bees sending follow up e-mails with the art selections (as well as BRAND NEW art that has arrived). We hope the meetings turn into lots of successful new programs!

We're baaaaaaaccccckkkkk

Jan 14, 2014

After what seems like a whirlwind of 3 days full of meetings, art reviews, and LOTS of walking, the ALI team is back from the Atlanta Gift show! We saw a lot of great products featuring art from our artists and we are super excited to share our photos with you. Please take a look at our album on Facebook, so you can enjoy the excitement with us.

While at the show, we got a chance to see some cards, hooked rugs, coasters, wall décor, tapestries and so much more from various artists. One of the most popular products we saw at the show was Fiber Optic EVERYTHING! From wall decor, to ornaments, to music boxes, to tapestries, everything is lit up! You'll be seeing these products around next holiday season in households and markets everywhere.

We really had a great time meeting with all of our clients!  We came back with positive feedback, contracts to write, and a wish list of new art for our artists to produce. Check our website often to see all of the new art that we receive!

Atlanta Market - July

Jul 22, 2009

Atlanta, Georgia was definitely the place to be last week for the gift & home industry. The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market at the America’s Mart displayed an amazing collection of products that featured the hottest colors, themes, and patterns in today’s décor. We were able to peruse the show to check out the latest products and to view our own Art Licensing artwork in these showrooms. We had a great presence at the show; many of our customers featured artwork by our talented bevy of artists and it looked great. We went in and out of showrooms speaking to sales reps, viewing their products, and getting feedback on the show.

One of the most prominent themes that appeared throughout most of the showrooms was religious artwork.  It was everywhere!  Nearly every showroom had some presence of religious imagery - some only had a few items, and others had entire sections of the showroom devoted to it.  The art was a mixture of everything from traditional religious symbols, like crosses and angels, to more modern takes on it, like decorative artwork with scripture added.  All of the work had a strong presence, which makes sense in an unstable time, and all of it was very beautiful.

Overall, the show traffic was a bit down, but people seemed somewhat optimistic. We walked the show during the last few days, and there were still buyers floating around looking for product, but it seemed that most were on a hunt for a bargain. There were many price drops and volume deals to be had in an attempt to stimulate orders.

The show was just so vast and the products were really lovely. It seemed that there was nothing that wasn’t included in these showrooms. Everything from décor and accessories to toys and gourmet foods was out on display. It truly was the largest collection of merchandise in one place and it was fabulous!
