Steve Henderson judged 31st annual Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts!

Jun 05, 2013

Artist Steve Henderson recently judged the 31st Annual Wallowa Valley Festival of the Arts in Joseph, Oregon. The three-day festival is one of the premiere art exhibitions in the Pacific Northwest, drawing regional and national artists working in all type of media. There were 214 works of art created by 90 artists for Steve to critique.  One participant said of Steve: “I was looking for his bias, because all judges have an obvious bias. But I couldn’t find it. He is an extremely fair and kind judge.

In addition to judging the show, Steve spoke at the festival about his own art and artwork, and conducted individual critique sessions with participating artists. In his off time, he hiked through the Wallowa Mountains, capturing reference photos for future paintings. The Wallowa Mountains are nicknamed the Swiss Alps of the Pacific Northwest, so he got all sorts of inspiration!  After hiking 7.5 miles for the day, Steve returned for the evening reception. He enjoyed a sip or two of wine, while he was grabbed by one artist after another for three hours.

Steve enjoyed this experience and was honored to be a judge!
