Val Bochov’s art featured in CNN Money!

Dec 10, 2014

Our artist, Val Bochov, has recently had the honor of working with CNN Money!  He did a series of 8 images inspired by futuristic transportation methods to go in an article titled: “The Travel of Tomorrow.”

The staff at CNN Money enjoy working with Val because he is creative, inventive, diverse, accommodating and very fast!  As they require multiple illustrations in a short period of time, Val is among a select few who can produce top-quality work in a short time without sacrificing the final product.

Why buy a knock off when you can get the real deal?

Nov 13, 2014

We have some extremely exciting news pertaining to Art Licensing's award winning artist, Dean Russo! To date we have placed over 100 licenses in a multitude of product categories. We have been working diligently to "Brand" Dean Russo in multiple market places. Consequently we are getting inundated with retail customers inquiring if Dean's work, as they are seeing it in the market place ( both online and in retail stores), is in fact his unique brand.

We have asked our customers to "Brand" his name on their websites well as somewhere on the product. We believe this this will help to avoid further confusion in the marketplace. Our Dean Russo followers will gain confidence becuase they know they will be buying only authorized products.

If you are interested in purchasing Dean Russo authorized products, you can do so by clicking the links below. His images/products are in MANY other marketplaces and venues, so be sure to check the product for his signature/copyright line so you know you are getting an authentic Dean Russo (not a knock off)!

The 2014 PhotoPlus International Conference and Expo

Nov 04, 2014

On Halloween, most of the ALI family was in VT eating yummy treats and hanging out with our trick-or-treaters (in between doing deals, of course). Joe, from our art department, spent Halloween in NYC for the PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo. This year, his treats came in the form of photography knowledge.

The PhotoPlus Conference + Expo was the perfect show for Joe to attend, as he is our resident photographer and imaging specialist. This show has become the largest photography and imaging show in North America! Over 22,000 professional photographers and enthusiasts from around the world attend this event. Attendees could choose from over 80 seminars, offering the ultimate experience in photography, filmmaking and digital imaging. Joe saw a lot of inspiring photography, filmmaking and imaging products- from image capture and color management to retouching and storage. There were even little theaters at the show that offered free 30 minute educational seminars all three days.

Joe came home with a ton of new information about photography. He is excited because he will be able to pass this knowledge onto our artists. To see photos from his journey, take a look at the PhotoPlus album on our facebook.

Susan Brabeau wins "Best of Show"

Oct 29, 2014

We are SO excited to announce that our artist, Susan Brabeau, received “Best of Show” (first place) at the North Carolina State Fair as a professional artist  again. She has won “Best of Show” every year since 2009! This year, her first place award at the State Fair was for her painting, “Hydrangeas.”  This is her newest piece and it will be hung on display at Logan's Trading Post in Raleigh, NC. The score card for judging the competition included quality of concept, design, creativity, and innovations.

This is the breakdown the judges used to judge each competitor:

I. Impact: effect on viewer, catches the eye and holds attention, mood and story telling techniques

II. Composition: arrangement, completeness and balance of picture elements

III. Technical Quality: sharpness, clarity, etc.

IV. Workmanship: prepared and mounted neatly and securely to meet requirement

In addition to winning awards at the state fair, Susan has also received local first-place awards in the Raleigh/Durham area in North Carolina. In 2013, she was a finalist in the “Artist's Magazine's” annual art competition with one of her still life pieces: “The Book box” which is inspired by Raleigh's historical landmarks, the beloved first train station. She also has several pieces in the permanent collection of the city of Raleigh and also at the Disney Studios.

41 Madison Tabletop Show 2014

Oct 27, 2014

Have you ever wondered if there is a place where you can see the finest names and newest trends in Tabletop Giftware? Well great, news… there is! Forty One Madison in New York City is a building full of Giftware, Dinnerware, Flatware and Housewares brands of exceptional design and quality. The tabletop show happens twice a year (once in the autumn and again in the spring). This year, the fall edition (October 21 – 24) marked the show’s 40th anniversary of bringing new tabletop and accessories to the marketplace.

The Art Licensing Sales team hopped on the train and headed down to New York City on Friday to go to the show. We had many meetings with new and existing clients. We got a lot of positive feedback about the artwork we presented. We were so excited when we got there and saw so many products with our images beautifully displayed in the showrooms. In the Certified International showroom we were able to get a sneak peek of some of the collections that will be in this year’s catalog, including “Paris Sunflowers” by Color Bakery.

Another Color Bakery collection, “Aria,” was also on display for the buyers.

Art Licensing Studio’s “Rustic Roosters” was featured as well.

In Thirstystone’s showroom, we saw lots of fun coasters with our images!

In the Mr. Christmas showroom, we got to see so many fun products, including illuminated wall décor. It is so magical to see the canvas transform once the lights are turned on.

The sales team came back to Vermont with a huge “To Do” list for follow up. We will be working on the next great tabletop collection with the artists and manufacturers. Keep your eyes peeled on our website and social media sites to see where you can view the next dinnerware set that we help to develop!

To view all of the photos from the tabletop show, take a look at our facebook photo album. For more information regarding licensing for tabletop products, contact us.

Jenny Newland's video and story bring awareness to Spasmodic Torticollis

Apr 05, 2014

Jenny Newland’s video, "The Creation of Grandpa's Puppies," is now being featured on the ST Dystonia's website along with her story. As a way of giving back to everyone at ST Dystonia & Abigail Brown at STRC, Jenny has dedicated her video to bring awareness to the cause. Jenny has suffered with Spasmodic Torticollis since 2003, and despite all of her setbacks with this debilitating disease, Jenny still continues to paint!

ST/Dystonia is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping people, like Jenny, who suffer with Spasmodic Torticollis. Spasmodic Torticollis is an extremely painful chronic neurological movement disorder causing the neck to involuntarily turn to the left, right, upwards, and/or downwards. The condition is also referred to as "cervical dystonia.”

Jenny said that the ST/Dystonia gave her the tools to beat this terrible disease. She has been following the program taught by Abbie which includes daily exercises & stretching, alkaline diet, massage, daily walks & talks with God and learning to listen to her body.  Today she is not holding her head up with her hands and she still feels great. She experiences stiffness in the mornings and some mild spasms, but after a hot Epson salt bath and stretching she feels much better. She asks everyone with ST to please be encouraged and don't give up!

You can see how talented she is by looking at her portfolio

ROCK'N out for children!

Apr 04, 2014

The Rock Demarco Foundation is a Michigan non-profit organization that was founded in 2012. Being an artist, Rock realizes the benefits of art and creativity to a child especially for children going through a difficult time. He decided to bring his passion for art and for children together and raise awareness and funds for a cause that he truly cares about. The foundation’s mission is to help young people rediscover childhood magic through artistic expression. Rock says, “A fundamentally important aspect of childhood is imagination: the ability to create, explore and dream. When children are faced with terminal illness, their world becomes filled with very adult realities.
We endeavor to allow these children the chance to rediscover their own childhood magic through artistic
 expression.”

Rock’s Foundation will place art therapy rooms in children’s hospitals nationwide. His goal is to have 15 fully staffed and supplied art rooms established throughout the United States by 2020! By partnering with renowned children’s hospitals around the country, Rock and his team will design and build accessible art rooms for the youngest patients in those hospitals. Here, children will be able to paint, draw, build, play and laugh.

Another piece of our art made it on TV!

Mar 21, 2014

While I was watching TV the other night, I jumped up and squealed with excitement! I was watching CBS’s comedy “Mike and Molly” when I noticed Daniel Peacock’s image, "De' Vine," in the background. There is no way to express how incredibly proud I was that art that we license was picked by Hollywood’s finest to be displayed on their show.

You can see the show’s star, Melissa McCarthy (Molly), making a phone call in front of the image.
