Inside our booth at Surtex 2013

May 20, 2013

Surtex 2013 was a great success! We had many visitors, but we are aware that not everyone that wanted to attend could, so we thought it would be fun to make a virtual tour of booth! We posted it here, through our facebook page for you to enjoy! Our Art Director, Zoe Anderson, with the help of the licensing associates, worked really hard to create the comprehensive panels for our display. These panels are the first thing new (and returning) customers saw when visiting our booth. In addition to the panels, we also spent days preparing our digital presentations so everyone coming to our booth had the opportunity to explore our complete archive. Oh, and lets not forget catalog! We distributed hundreds of copies of our new catalog at the show as it is an amazing resources for our customers! You can always take a look at our digital catalog here

Art Licensing International featured in the Wall Street Journal

Apr 30, 2013

If you saw yesterday's Wall Street Journal, you might have noticed there was a great article about the business of licensing artwork, and of course they reached out to the experts.  They interviewed Art Licensing CEO, Jack Appelman, to get the skinny on the history of the business, and even got some first hand testimonies from our artists, Mindy Sommers and Cory Carlson. These two artists  have been very successful with Art Licensing, and have grown with us in this ever-changing industry. You can see the full article online at The Wall Street Journal.  You'll even see a color photo of one of Cory Carlson's images.  That particular image has been used for puzzles, wall tiles, and even cross-stitch patterns.  Yes, we like to get our artists the biggest bang for their buck, or their brush you could say.

We're back from the American International 2013 Toy Fair

Feb 13, 2013

We're still spinning from all the fun, uh work, we did this weekend at the American International 2013 Toy Fair in NYC.  What a busy day, shuffling our way from booth to booth and trying to not get distracted by all the fun to be had. Wow, kids (and big kids, like us) are in for a treat this Christmas!

Seriously though, we met with some of our favorite puzzle companies to show off our newest artwork from the talented artist we work with.  The meetings went great and we're working out details for some promising new puzzle deals coming up. We also got a chance to see first hand some really interesting interactive puzzles and illuminated puzzles.  This should be a fun year for puzzles.

Of ourse we also checked out the newest puzzles and found some very familiar artwork.  You'll see these images if you browse around the site.  We saw puzzles with artwork by Dennis Lewan, Randy Van Beek, Bill Bell, Melanie Parker, Jenny Newland, Nancy Wernersbach and more.  If you want to see more photo's check out our fb page.

We are back from the Altanta Gift Show and could not be more excited!

Jan 14, 2013

ALI just got back from the Atlanta Gift show and what a show it was!

Syrena and Courtney spent 3 days walking the show, meeting with clients and checking out all the fantastic products being produced with artwork from many of our artists. We got a chance to see cards from various artists including, Pat Yuille, Lucie Bilodeau, Nancy Wernerbach, and John Golden. We were also able to see hooked rugs with artwork by both Stacie Flint and Cheryl Piperberg as well as fantastic dinnerware collections from Color Bakery. We also saw some lovely wall decor from our ALI Studio collection.

Have you heard about FiberOptic Wall Tapestries? Well, if you haven't yet, you will! Out artist, Nicky Boehme, was featured at one of the showrooms displaying these lit up tapestries. You'll be sure to see these tapestries around next holiday season in households and markets everywhere.

We had a great time meeting with all our clients!  We came back with positive feedback, contracts to write, and a wishlist of new art for our artists to produce. Check our website often to see all of the new art that we receive! Take a look at our facebook for more pictures from the show!
